Introverted pre-med student Katie is loving college life. She has a job at the library that suits her perfectly and an awesome roommate. Her only complaint? Said roommate is trying to push her out of her comfort zone. That’s how she meets Archer. He’s hot and popular but surprisingly kind.

Years of grief and loss have taken a toll on Archer’s concentration, and things have been tough for him lately. Katie’s entrance into his life is a revelation, and he’s happy to give her credit for the improvement that follows. It isn’t a stretch to know that having someone support you unconditionally can change your world.

But Katie’s a giving person, and it’s not long before all her priorities center around Archer. He’s not going to let her sacrifice her dreams when she’s done so much for his. What happens when you see the person you love choosing your success over their own? You let them go.

Theirs is a journey of love and loss, of self-sacrifice and humility, heartbreak and hope. It is about finding the right one, and then waiting to find them again.

We stood at the crosswalk, waiting for the light to change, her chatter creating comfortable conversation between us. I watched a gray Jeep with the top off stop for the light, giving us the opportunity to cross. I glanced his way to make sure he saw us.

I had not come to college to meet guys, like Bethany, so I was a bit shocked when I couldn’t take my eyes off him.

He was adjusting something on his dashboard—maybe his music? He wasn’t looking our way, so I could stare undetected for a few seconds. He was the poster boy for Abercrombie college hotness. His almost black hair was long enough to fall forward, and his smile was so pronounced I could see his dimples.

His eyes lifted to check the status of the light, and he glanced at me. I blinked but did not look away, and our eyes met. I felt like someone tickled my stomach. I blinked again and kept walking, my cadence a bit slower now. I could see his smile reach his eyes, and I realized he was talking to someone on Bluetooth. He laughed, and the richness of his voice was almost mesmerizing. I couldn’t make out what he said, but it didn’t matter. This was just a stolen moment where I would pay attention to the most attractive person I had encountered—ever.

Bethany hip-checked me and laughed, slinging her arms around to hug me. The driver glanced over and smiled at us, his look contagious, and I knew I smiled a big goofy smile back.

Bethany and I had arrived at the other side of the street, and the light changed. The guy drove off without a backward glance, which I anticipated. However, the feeling of disappointment I felt wasn’t expected. I always preferred to be invisible, and someone so clearly out of my league should not have mattered at all.

Essie was once given a tee shirt warning people they might end up in her books. As a wife, over-volunteer, mom of three, caretaker of pets, and someone with a vibrant career in education, Essie is more than a casual observer of life. Her superpowers are her empathy and love of learning, and they wonderfully weave real bits of humanity into fictional stories that she hopes readers stay up too late reading. When she is not writing, she is searching for the next book, allowing her to walk in someone else’s shoes for a bit.

Ivory Tower is the successful owner and CEO of an online dating service who prides herself in matching her clients with their true love. Everyone except herself. When a TV studio wants to spotlight her company live on air, Ivory runs into a problem: she can’t produce the boyfriend she needs so she doesn’t look like a fraud.

Li Qiang is too easy to love and too hard to forget, and the question remains: Does he really love her or is he only playing his role?

The tears fell for a long time, punctuated ever so often by little sobs that I couldn’t hold in. I lost track of time and my dignity as I stood there, leaning on a man I barely knew and who was my subordinate—worse yet, who was much younger than me.

As soon as the tears finally dried out, I became acutely aware of his hard pecs underneath my face and the awful, snotty stains on his immaculate shirt. “Oh my God. I’m so sorry,” I said, in a panic, trying to brush the dark spots with my hands. Holy mother of God, it looked as if I was caressing him. I pulled my hands away, horrified. “Double sorry. I don’t know what got into me. So, so sorry.” Scared of looking at his face, I stared straight at the ugly blotches on the white of his shirt. “I’ll buy you a new shirt. How unprofessional of me.”

Before I knew what was happening, he held on to my hands. His were large and warm. I had the insane thought that my tiny, puny hands belonged in his. I couldn’t avoid it any longer; I looked up at him. “Stop fussing. It’s okay.” He bent his head just enough to look me in the eyes. “Everyone has bad days. I’m glad I was here when you needed a good cry.”

I sniffed like a little girl. “But your shirt… I made a mess out of it.” I was glad he was holding my hands because I would have touched him again. I’d taken a total leave of my senses. “There’s mascara all over it.”

He clicked his tongue in an oddly old-fashioned way. “Nothing that won’t wash out. Will you stop worrying about my shirt and tell me what’s going on?”

Author: Becca Seymour
Book: Bounce
Series: Outback Boys #2 (Complete Stand-Alone)
Genre: M/M Romance

Outback Boys is a sweet and sexy M/M romance series complete with bruised butts, rope burn, and overworked muscles… all in the pursuit of adventure, of course!
Aiden is content keeping people at a distance and ensuring his boundaries are impenetrable. There’s safety in not opening up, but there’s also a loneliness he doesn’t realise exists until he meets Riley, a new member of the LGBTQ+ adventure group Outback Boys.

Fascinated by the new guy, Aiden is quick to discover his flirtation skills are rusty and his sweet-talking is cringeworthy. But sweet and clumsy Riley doesn’t seem to mind so much.

Even though Riley doesn’t quite know how to handle Aiden’s intensity, he’s willing to step out of his comfort zone and see how their tentative friendship unravels.

Between a surf lesson that resembles a kangaroo on acid and paddle boarding that is trickier than walking a tightrope, Aiden and Riley discover love may be a possibility after all.

Happiness relies on honesty and openness, though. And with both men holding on tightly to past struggles, their future together is at risk. Can the two Aussies bounce back and heal themselves and each other, or are some wounds too raw to recover from?

I've had stories in my head since I was a child.  All sorts of stories of fantasy, romance, mystery and anything else that captured my interest.  I'm a voracious reader, and have spent many hours in my life devouring books, therefore it's only fitting I should write a few myself!

I've spent most of my life as a performing musician and band instrument repair technician, but that doesn't mean I'm pigeon-holed into one mold.  I've been a university professor, belly dancer, craftsperson, soap maker, singer, rock band artist, jewelry maker, lifeguard, swim coach, and whatever else I feel like exploring.  As one of my students said to me once, "Life's too short to ignore the opportunities."   I have no intention of ever stopping so welcome to my story world.  I hope you enjoy it!

Title: Confined Desires
Genre: F/F Romance
Release Date: March 27, 2021
Cover Designer: BookSmith Design

 Available now!

Sky’s crush on her best friend has always been unrequited… until they’re stuck in quarantine together and sparks fly.

Sky’s high school bestie is moving back to the area and staying with her for a few weeks. Easy, right? Not when she’d held a torch for the woman since high school. The moment Mia walks through Sky’s door, those unrequited feelings return full-force. So, when a spreading virus keeps them confined in Sky’s apartment even longer, Sky is screwed.

Mia returns home after a bad breakup, but Sky is the only one who offers a safe place to land. However, the seven years they spent apart has her looking at her best friend through a different lens, attraction sparking with every inside joke, shared dinner, and cuddle on the couch.

That flare of desire fast turns physical. They can’t get enough of each other. Yet, whenever Mia tries for the "where is this going" talk, Sky dodges. Sky lost her sister in high school, and ever since, she’s become ace at keeping dates at a distance. Yet if she doesn’t manage to push past her own fears, she might lose her one shot at happiness with the woman she’s waited a lifetime for.

Mia crawled closer, the view of her lace-covered breasts even better as she virtually climbed onto Sky’s lap. She swallowed hard, hoping the woman couldn’t hear the motorcycle rev of her heart.

“I guess over the past few years?” she said, trying to distract herself from the way Mia crouched right before her, knees dug into the cushion. “Once I started getting inked, I didn’t want to stop.”

“I don’t have any myself,” Mia said, her voice slow and deliberate. “But I’ve always found tattoos sexy.”

The air may as well have evacuated the room. Mia’s dark eyes filled with curiosity and an intent Sky couldn’t quite discern, one that made her throat dry. Sky couldn’t focus on anything but the woman before her, the movie playing in the background long forgotten. Mia’s curves had gotten more pronounced with time, the freckles evident on her cheeks, and the Sagittarius pendant Sky had gotten her years ago still on a cord around her neck.

Sky reached out before she could help herself, her fingers pinching down on the hammered brass surface of the pendant. “Didn’t think you’d still have this.”

“I never take it off,” Mia said as she shifted her weight on top of Sky’s lap.

Oh hell. The reality of Mia sitting on her lap made her reel, warm legs pressing down on either side and that gorgeous body inches from her. She resisted the urge to wrap her arms around Mia’s waist and dive in for her lips the way she’d been longing to for years now.
