Randi has spent her entire life writing in one form or another. In fact, if she wasn't writing, she'd likely go completely and utterly insane. Her husband has learned to recognize when the voices are talking in her head and she needs some quality time with an empty Word file (the key to a successful marriage with a writer).

She lives with her husband, daughter, and four-legged children—all of which think they are people too.

A pop culture junkie, she has been known to have entire conversations in movie quotes and/or song lyrics.

Title: Death
Series: The Horsemen Series #1
Genre: Urban Fantasy Romance
All Purchase Links
Here’s the problem with myths and legends; they're fiction. At one time, they may have been stories of real people, but over time, the story was passed from person to person, so what was once fact, becomes the written fables of those long ago.

This is the true story of Death and the five horsemen.

Quitting her teaching career and working full time on her fledgling editing business, Julie Michaels isn't prepared for the shedload of changes heading her way. To be precise, it’s just one screeching stop on the crazy train away.

Dean "Death" Apocalos never imagined change would come so swiftly in the form of love, chaos, and Decay. Dean and his three brothers are about to see their worst fear come to light; their forgotten brother and the fifth horseman, Decay.

Previously entombed, someone has let the loon loose on LA. It’s now up to the horsemen to put him back in his box… before he upsets the balance once more.

As of late, paranormal hasn't been my go-to genre. When I read the blurb of this book though I decided to give it a try. I'm SO glad I did. Instantly I fell in love with Dean and his brothers (which seems odd considering they're the four horsemen, but read this and you'll fall in love with them too!) Of the brothers, Connor had some of the best lines ("Talk dirty to it") and Falcone seems like a big ole sweetheart the kind of guy you'd want as a friend. This book had everything I love about paranormal - a great storyline, action, detailed history, plot twists, and a good bit of humor thrown in. The way this was written reminds me of the paranormal style of Joss Whedon (one of my all-time faves) where a serious moment is suddenly made lighter by a sarcastic comment. In short, this book was awesome. It has flown up to the top of my faves of this year and I am recommending it to my husband and anyone else I know who enjoys reading!

Penelope groaned. They’d slept together again. Why did she insist on torturing herself? Although she was a teeny bit disappointed she couldn’t remember any of it.
Jack laughed at her and reached out to take her hand. “I’m just teasing. Nothing happened between us. You just snored. A lot. If getting a hangover doesn’t stop you from getting drunk again, then just keep in mind if you plan to go home with a guy, don’t drink yourself into a stupor beforehand. I thought a bear had sneaked into my apartment.” He laughed, chucking her chin and turning to the whistling kettle on the stove.
Penelope couldn’t stop the heat from taking over. She could just imagine the tomato color her face was sporting. “Does that mean you didn’t take me out of my clothes?” she managed to ask.
“I was surprised you were actually balanced enough to slide that little number off, especially with those fuck-me heels.” His eyes twinkled from above his mug of coffee.
Penelope wasn’t having any of it. “Ugh, stop. Just stop it. Be serious for once, please. No more of these double meanings and sexual innuendos. They’re getting a little annoying and the only thing I want to do right now is find my dress and get home.”
Jack just looked back at her, a serious expression on his face. “All right, truce. I’ll shut up for now. Deal?”
