Zander McKinney came into a lot of money recently. As his life is turned upside down, he struggles to make the changes to live the life he wants instead of the one everyone wants for him. When a raven haired beauty slips into his bed and steals his heart, he knows he’ll never be the same.
Will he be able to break through her walls and make her see love isn’t an illusion? Can he tame her anxious heart?

My Review of Anxious Hearts
5 Well-Deserved Stars!!

When this author puts out a new book I don’t have to know anything about it to know I’m going to buy it. I’ve read every book she’s published and have never found one to be less than worthy of 5 stars and then some. The characters go through real issues and they are decent people with flaws. On average I read a book a week and that’s fast if I can finish in a week. I finished this book in less than a day because every free second was spent picking up my Kindle to read more! One of the characters in this book suffers from depression. As someone who has suffered with depression I felt that the feelings and thoughts were perfectly captured! At times it felt like I could even be reading a journal I had written myself. The insecurities, the low self-worth, the doubts, the loneliness, all perfectly put into words. This is not your typical fall in love too quick romance, this is a well thought out dose of reality. I love Zander, I’ve loved him since he was introduced in Mangled Hearts and was so excited to get to read a book with him as the main character. We get to see Cade and Francesca once again, which is awesome because I’ve missed reading about them! To make a long story short…YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK

*Excerpt from Brat* By then we’d finished eating, and when the waitress asked about dessert we both declined. We traded glances across the table, and I could tell Chase was as anxious to get on with the reason for our little date in the first place. The waitress brought the check, and after arguing for five minutes over who would pay, Chase physically wrestled it from my hand. “I think I can afford a steak and a salad,” he grumbled once he’d overpowered me. “Relax, princess, this one’s on me.” After he paid, we left the restaurant and took our time walking toward Chase’s car. The sun had set and the night was clear and balmy, knocking off the chill of the restaurant comfortably. Once inside the car, Chase turned the engine on and then faced me, his stare pointed. “What is this, Chloe?” he asked, finally cutting right to the chase. “I know we said what happened this summer would be a one-time thing, and I can see how my showing up here might have shocked you. Maybe I was a little too forward, and my talking about having something more between us than a one night stand might have freaked you out a bit. I don’t blame you. It freaks me out, too. Neither of us has the rosiest past, and we couldn’t be more different as people.” He leaned toward me over the middle dash, one hand coming up to the nape of my neck. His fingers slid through my hair, trailing down to my bare shoulder, sending little shivers down my spine, which curled in my middle and shot down straight between my legs. I swallowed noisily as he came closer, his lips brushing my ear. “But damn it, Chloe, I can’t get the smell of you out of my head, or the taste of you off my tongue.” A gasp caught in my throat, and I couldn’t pull away from him. His lips found my neck, his breath racing over my skin. He kissed me there, tracing a path down toward my shoulder and one of the thin straps holding my dress up. “Chase,” I whimpered as he kissed my shoulder, his fingertips causing goose bumps to break out over my arm. “I know it’s crazy,” he murmured, “but don’t you remember how good we were together?” I shivered, remembering a tangle of arms and legs and the humid mists of the rainforest. My thighs clenched at the memory of how he’d felt between them. “Yes,” I whispered, “I do.” Chase’s lips found my jawline, tracing a slow path toward my mouth. “I remember, too,” he sighed. “Kissing you, touching you, untying the strings of that sexy little bikini of yours.” He gave my spaghetti strap a little tug for emphasis, just as I turned my head toward his. “That pretty little sound you made in the back of your throat when I touched you. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it … about you. What about you? Do you ever think about it? About me?” “All the time,” I whispered against his lips just before he kissed me. It had all started with the worst first date ever, and ended on something of a dare …   Meet the roommates of apartment 4C!   Beautiful girl with blue eyes Beautiful girl with blue eyes Jenncharacterreveal Beautiful girl with blue eyes Beautiful girl with blue eyes About the Author IMG_6201Ever since she first read books like Chronicles of Narnia or Goosebumps, Alicia has been a lover of mind-bending fiction. Little Black Book by Tabatha Vargo & Melissa Andrea

Book Blurb:

My name’s Sebastian Black, and I want to buy you. I could have any woman I want, but I choose you.

Here’s my offer…
I’ll put your name in my LITTLE BLACK BOOK, and when I want you, I’ll call you. When I call, you’re going to come, in more ways than one. It will be mutually pleasurable for both of us.

There are only two rules:

If you do either, I’ll remove you from my book and payment stops.

Do we have an understanding?

My Review:  5 Stars!!!

I received an ARC copy of this book still in the editing process so any errors there may have been will not be considered in my review, this is simply based on the story and characters.
First of all, I will confess that when I first started seeing the teasers about this book I was not excited to read it. I love the works of these two authors but my first thought was it would be 50 Shades of Grey all over again and would be something I couldn't sit through. Now that I've finished the book I can say I was wrong about that and I'm so glad I got an early chance to read it! The first line of the book is definitely attention grabbing! From the moment I started reading I was intrigued by Sebastian Black. He had a few characteristics that I'm not fond of but they stayed true to the characters background and personality and that's what matters. As for Rosslyn, I like the fact that she didn't force herself to change into something she wasn't, instead she let him open her up to explore things about herself she had been unaware she was missing. The writing style...amazing as always. These two authors, Tabatha Vargo and Melissa Andrea, always have a unique way with words in their writing that make them stand out. To say the scenes between Sebastian and Rosslyn were hot is putting it mildly! I'm sure my electric bill will be outrageous this month because I had to turn my A/C up so much to cool down from them! Little Black Book is a hot and steamy romance that will have you dreaming about Sebastian Black in no time.

Reading has always been a passion for me, and writing as instinctive as breathing. Every inhale is an idea; every exhale a creation. Flutter will be my debut release, and I couldn't be more excited about it! The only thing I do better than writing you ask? Making beautiful girls. My daughter's will always be my greatest accomplishment.

Book Spotlight #2

Promises in the Dark (Secrets of the Mystic Book #1)
By: Princess Racena McConnell

What began as a casual dinner with friends quickly blossoms into a beautiful friendship for Rachel Adams and Derek Williamson. In time, it will develop into something much greater than either could have ever imagined. The pair have each had their share of tragedy and heartbreak that time has yet to heal. As their friendship evolves into something much more, Rachel begins to open up to the man she has fallen in love with about secrets that have consumed her life for so long.

Just when life seems to be opening up possibilities for the two of them, inexplicable and unsettling things start to happen. When these mysterious occurrences begin to invade their happiness, they are faced with the reality that they must find the truth about what haunts them. Will they survive as they uncover some of these long-kept secrets? Will the mystical forces that linked the lovers together so long ago be the same to destroy them in the end?

This book captivated me from the beginning! The characters are true to life, realistic and strongly written. Rachel, broken by her ex-husband, dealing with lack of confidence due to a failed marriage that she blames herself for. The ex-husband, Mike, is a guy who causes good guys to lose out because he's so terrible that it makes you feel all men are that way. Derek, widower, still loyal to his late wife, fighting prejudices that his father held him to, striving to live his life alone. Joanna, woman that makes it scary to have female friends who may not value friendship over sex. Ken and Jan the (sometimes overbearing) friends with really good intentions. This is a great story of two heartbroken people finding solace through friendship that becomes more. This isn't just a book of romance though, there are underlying secrets that are revealed. There are a few scenes that are painted so vividly with words that the imagery gave me chill-bumps! There is also a great message of not letting the worlds bigotry get in the way of what your heart feels. The ending is surprising and keeps you wanting more. Looking forward to reading Book 2!

What other reviewers are saying......

~~The suspense and the unanswered questions had me turning the pages. The characters were so real to me and the story line was great! The mystery of the unknown drew me in while the bond between the characters had me wrapped up and feeling every emotion the characters had throughout the story. I actually teared up twice with uncontrolled emotions, the characters seemed to come to life and the connection they had was powerful!

~~This book had me guessing all the way through. Just when I thought I had the plot figured out I was wrong again. Excited to see where book 2 takes us..

~~Wow, what can I say! Left me with a ferocious hunger to see what happens next. This author has real imagination.... This book has you reeling as your mind sets you up for one thing and her web spinning skills send you spiraling into a whole other realm!!! Awesome.

Book Spotlight: Falling to Pieces by Sara Nelson

Falling to Pieces
Author: Sara Nelson

Lily Stevens had it all. The white picket fence, amazing kids, and...the perfect husband? Till one day it crumbles around her when she discovers her husband is mixed up in a real bad situation and that her mother has been holding the truth from her.
When she meets Oliver she thinks her life is getting better but oh how she was wrong. Can she survive the madness she has uncovered?

My Review:

4.5 stars for sure! The story kept me intrigued throughout. First this is a NA book, 18 and over. There are some descriptive sex scenes as well as violent scenes. The main character, Lily, is a young mother whose life gets turned upside down in the beginning of the book and keeps taking hits throughout. There are so many secrets that are revealed in this book that it keeps the action heightened. The storyline is refreshingly different. I'd like to have read more about some of the side characters, but the mystery of those characters does leave a nice opening for the author to add more books to the series, which I hope she does! All in all, I enjoyed this action-packed, sexy story by this author and look forward to reading more books of hers.

Quotes from other readers:

~~There was a lot of drama going on in Lily's life and I absolutely loved how everything tied together at the end. It's not like one of those stories where there's a bunch of drama just to take up space in a book; everything was happening for a reason, which made the ending pretty fabulous!

~~The story sucked me in from the beginning. They were some parts that were sad, happy, and some that were funny. It keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting on what happens next. I can't wait to read more from this author

~~Lily discovered that her spouse, soon to be ex, is nothing like the man she thought he was. He is a monster. Now she has to figure out how to keep him from destroying her, the children and her life.  It is gripping and fast moving and a book I totally enjoyed

Secret Love by Christine Warner *RELEASE DAY BLAST*

Lizzie Tarleton has always done things her own way—including the time at the tender age of thirteen when she confessed to her brother’s best friend she loved him. But now she’s a new teacher at the local high school, and independent enough to know that you can’t force love. She’ll find love when the time is right—even though her parents are adamant the time is now. The only downfall to her idyllic life is the fact that her childhood crush—who broke her heart—is now her boss. If only she could stop daydreaming about him.
Wayne Whitmore grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and worked hard to get where he’s at in life. Even though he enjoys being principal at the small town high school, he dreams of coaching baseball. When his best friend asks him to watch over his little sister at her new job at Wayne’s school, he agrees. What he doesn’t count on is how she’s grown from the pig tailed kid who told him she loved him, to the woman who breaks his concentration with her beauty and smile. Unable to get over his fascination, and afraid he’ll ruin his friend’s trust, Wayne applies for his dream job—one that will take him far away.

One night while decorating the school gymnasium for an upcoming sock hop, Lizzie and Wayne find themselves alone. They share a kiss and Lizzie realizes her childhood crush for Wayne has never died. Wayne decides he doesn’t want to let Lizzie get away.

Can they come to terms with their secret love and then overcome the other secrets they are hiding in order to get what they each want? Or is their timing for love still off?
She blinked away the heat of tears forming at the back of her eyes. Their conversation had grown too serious. She needed to lighten things up a bit. “Remember when we used to play ‘What if?’”
He laughed. “What if Lizzie wore a dress?”
“Either she was going to church, or her mom was having a ladies’ social.” Lizzie giggled. “Ricky hated that game.”
“He’d get so mad when you’d start it.” He made the final cut on a small snowflake and added it to the pile before him.
“What if Wayne couldn’t throw his famous curve ball?”
“The school trophy case would be one trophy short. What if Lizzie wasn’t teaching here?”
She pouted. “She’d be sad. I have no idea what I’d be doing if I hadn’t found a job here. What does Lizzie have to do to show Wayne she thanks him?” She winked, enjoying their fun.
He cleared his throat. “What if Wayne said Lizzie owed him a kiss?”
Her belly trembled. What if?
“What if he stole one?” His voice lowered and he leaned in.
“Why don’t you find out?” she whispered.

****My Review of Secret Love****
4.5 Stars
Secret Love is a sweet novella of an innocent love affair. It's the old fashioned kind of love that took years to develop and is pure of heart and soul. Lizzy loved Wayne from the time she was a young girl, though he thought it was merely a school girl crush at the time. Those feelings stay with her into adulthood when she finds herself working for Wayne. The story takes place in 1955 when the most exciting things for teens to do was attend dances and adults wanted to get home in time to "see their shows". It was a simpler time and it allows romances to blossom in a simpler way. I really enjoyed this short romantic novella and look forward to reading more from this author.
