Little Black Book by Tabatha Vargo & Melissa Andrea

Book Blurb:

My name’s Sebastian Black, and I want to buy you. I could have any woman I want, but I choose you.
NO RELATIONSHIP, JUST SEX.

Here’s my offer…
I’ll put your name in my LITTLE BLACK BOOK, and when I want you, I’ll call you. When I call, you’re going to come, in more ways than one. It will be mutually pleasurable for both of us.

There are only two rules:
DON'T EVER DENY ME.
DON'T FALL IN LOVE.

If you do either, I’ll remove you from my book and payment stops.

Do we have an understanding?

My Review:  5 Stars!!!

I received an ARC copy of this book still in the editing process so any errors there may have been will not be considered in my review, this is simply based on the story and characters.
First of all, I will confess that when I first started seeing the teasers about this book I was not excited to read it. I love the works of these two authors but my first thought was it would be 50 Shades of Grey all over again and would be something I couldn't sit through. Now that I've finished the book I can say I was wrong about that and I'm so glad I got an early chance to read it! The first line of the book is definitely attention grabbing! From the moment I started reading I was intrigued by Sebastian Black. He had a few characteristics that I'm not fond of but they stayed true to the characters background and personality and that's what matters. As for Rosslyn, I like the fact that she didn't force herself to change into something she wasn't, instead she let him open her up to explore things about herself she had been unaware she was missing. The writing style...amazing as always. These two authors, Tabatha Vargo and Melissa Andrea, always have a unique way with words in their writing that make them stand out. To say the scenes between Sebastian and Rosslyn were hot is putting it mildly! I'm sure my electric bill will be outrageous this month because I had to turn my A/C up so much to cool down from them! Little Black Book is a hot and steamy romance that will have you dreaming about Sebastian Black in no time.

New York Times & USA Today Bestselling author, Melissa Andrea-
I find it hard to sum up my life in a paragraph, but I'll try.
Reading has always been a passion for me, and writing as instinctive as breathing. Every inhale is an idea; every exhale a creation. Flutter will be my debut release, and I couldn't be more excited about it! The only thing I do better than writing you ask? Making beautiful girls. My daughter's will always be my greatest accomplishment.
I was born in Denver, Colorado -but I will always think of sunny Arizona as my home. I don't have a big family, but I'm close with my sister, brother & my mom. My mom is my hero, my inspiration, and I couldn't have asked for a more amazing person to be raised by.
4 things you should know about me: I'm very girly, but I can get down and dirty with the best of them. I adore the color pink, I love things that sparkle (including vampires) and I like even numbers (hence 4 things about me, not 5)

***MY REVIEW***
5 STARS

This book captivated me from the beginning! The characters are true to life, realistic and strongly written. Rachel, broken by her ex-husband, dealing with lack of confidence due to a failed marriage that she blames herself for. The ex-husband, Mike, is a guy who causes good guys to lose out because he's so terrible that it makes you feel all men are that way. Derek, widower, still loyal to his late wife, fighting prejudices that his father held him to, striving to live his life alone. Joanna, woman that makes it scary to have female friends who may not value friendship over sex. Ken and Jan the (sometimes overbearing) friends with really good intentions. This is a great story of two heartbroken people finding solace through friendship that becomes more. This isn't just a book of romance though, there are underlying secrets that are revealed. There are a few scenes that are painted so vividly with words that the imagery gave me chill-bumps! There is also a great message of not letting the worlds bigotry get in the way of what your heart feels. The ending is surprising and keeps you wanting more. Looking forward to reading Book 2!

What other reviewers are saying......

~~The suspense and the unanswered questions had me turning the pages. The characters were so real to me and the story line was great! The mystery of the unknown drew me in while the bond between the characters had me wrapped up and feeling every emotion the characters had throughout the story. I actually teared up twice with uncontrolled emotions, the characters seemed to come to life and the connection they had was powerful!

~~This book had me guessing all the way through. Just when I thought I had the plot figured out I was wrong again. Excited to see where book 2 takes us..

~~Wow, what can I say! Left me with a ferocious hunger to see what happens next. This author has real imagination.... This book has you reeling as your mind sets you up for one thing and her web spinning skills send you spiraling into a whole other realm!!! Awesome.

Book Spotlight: Falling to Pieces by Sara Nelson

Falling to Pieces
Author: Sara Nelson

18+
Lily Stevens had it all. The white picket fence, amazing kids, and...the perfect husband? Till one day it crumbles around her when she discovers her husband is mixed up in a real bad situation and that her mother has been holding the truth from her.
When she meets Oliver she thinks her life is getting better but oh how she was wrong. Can she survive the madness she has uncovered?

My Review:

4.5 stars for sure! The story kept me intrigued throughout. First this is a NA book, 18 and over. There are some descriptive sex scenes as well as violent scenes. The main character, Lily, is a young mother whose life gets turned upside down in the beginning of the book and keeps taking hits throughout. There are so many secrets that are revealed in this book that it keeps the action heightened. The storyline is refreshingly different. I'd like to have read more about some of the side characters, but the mystery of those characters does leave a nice opening for the author to add more books to the series, which I hope she does! All in all, I enjoyed this action-packed, sexy story by this author and look forward to reading more books of hers.

Quotes from other readers:

~~There was a lot of drama going on in Lily's life and I absolutely loved how everything tied together at the end. It's not like one of those stories where there's a bunch of drama just to take up space in a book; everything was happening for a reason, which made the ending pretty fabulous!

~~The story sucked me in from the beginning. They were some parts that were sad, happy, and some that were funny. It keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting on what happens next. I can't wait to read more from this author

~~Lily discovered that her spouse, soon to be ex, is nothing like the man she thought he was. He is a monster. Now she has to figure out how to keep him from destroying her, the children and her life.  It is gripping and fast moving and a book I totally enjoyed

Secret Love by Christine Warner *RELEASE DAY BLAST*

SECRET LOVE BY CHRISTINE WARNER

Lizzie Tarleton has always done things her own way—including the time at the tender age of thirteen when she confessed to her brother’s best friend she loved him. But now she’s a new teacher at the local high school, and independent enough to know that you can’t force love. She’ll find love when the time is right—even though her parents are adamant the time is now. The only downfall to her idyllic life is the fact that her childhood crush—who broke her heart—is now her boss. If only she could stop daydreaming about him.
Wayne Whitmore grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and worked hard to get where he’s at in life. Even though he enjoys being principal at the small town high school, he dreams of coaching baseball. When his best friend asks him to watch over his little sister at her new job at Wayne’s school, he agrees. What he doesn’t count on is how she’s grown from the pig tailed kid who told him she loved him, to the woman who breaks his concentration with her beauty and smile. Unable to get over his fascination, and afraid he’ll ruin his friend’s trust, Wayne applies for his dream job—one that will take him far away.

One night while decorating the school gymnasium for an upcoming sock hop, Lizzie and Wayne find themselves alone. They share a kiss and Lizzie realizes her childhood crush for Wayne has never died. Wayne decides he doesn’t want to let Lizzie get away.

Can they come to terms with their secret love and then overcome the other secrets they are hiding in order to get what they each want? Or is their timing for love still off?
EXCERPT
She blinked away the heat of tears forming at the back of her eyes. Their conversation had grown too serious. She needed to lighten things up a bit. “Remember when we used to play ‘What if?’”
He laughed. “What if Lizzie wore a dress?”
“Either she was going to church, or her mom was having a ladies’ social.” Lizzie giggled. “Ricky hated that game.”
“He’d get so mad when you’d start it.” He made the final cut on a small snowflake and added it to the pile before him.
“What if Wayne couldn’t throw his famous curve ball?”
“The school trophy case would be one trophy short. What if Lizzie wasn’t teaching here?”
She pouted. “She’d be sad. I have no idea what I’d be doing if I hadn’t found a job here. What does Lizzie have to do to show Wayne she thanks him?” She winked, enjoying their fun.
He cleared his throat. “What if Wayne said Lizzie owed him a kiss?”
Her belly trembled. What if?
“What if he stole one?” His voice lowered and he leaned in.
“Why don’t you find out?” she whispered.

****My Review of Secret Love****
4.5 Stars
Secret Love is a sweet novella of an innocent love affair. It's the old fashioned kind of love that took years to develop and is pure of heart and soul. Lizzy loved Wayne from the time she was a young girl, though he thought it was merely a school girl crush at the time. Those feelings stay with her into adulthood when she finds herself working for Wayne. The story takes place in 1955 when the most exciting things for teens to do was attend dances and adults wanted to get home in time to "see their shows". It was a simpler time and it allows romances to blossom in a simpler way. I really enjoyed this short romantic novella and look forward to reading more from this author.
